Any centralized platform is a trap for developers in that they can close or tax access at any moment. Of course they have advantages and aren’t going away, but open protocols like Bitcoin and LN have an advantage of not being a platform where a capricious decision kills your App

this felt intensely inevitable for a better part of a decade as the company grew into an ads business, until it didn't feel inevitable; twitter gave these developers access to a new API in recent years. just awful for the small companies that supported this platform for so long
