Since 2018 all Herts ebird and Birdtrack records have gone into the Bird Club database and then to the Herts Environmental Records Centre, so are all available there for planners and developers to see

I suppose this is a matter for developer preference. I'm very comfortable with the DB side, and prefer to do more things there. Might be just my experience with developers who don't understand/aren't comfortable/just hate the database layer and want to focus on UI
